ISO 28,000:2013 is an international norm that was developed in response to the demands by the industry to regulate security management. Its principal objective is to guarantee the security of supply chains.
This norm requires the organization to evaluate the operational security environment and determine whether proper security measures have been implemented, as well as compliance with other regulations governing the organization through the methodology known as Plan-Execute-Review-Act (PHRA). According to the norm´s mandate, our park has to establish, document, implement, maintain, and continuously improve an effective security management system to identify security threats, evaluate risks, and control and mitigate their consequences.
The certification processes started in 2016 with the technical advisement of the company Pequio, which is responsible for providing the training necessary as well as follow-up of personnel for proper implementation. In June 2017 INTECO performed the audit for certification of the management system, which verified its proper functioning.
The ceremony for presentation of this certification was held in the J.W.Marriott Hotel on Thursday, August 31st of this year within the framework of the thirtieth anniversary of INTECO. Our president, Mr. Manuel Tavares, received the certification from Mr. Javier Rodríguez, president of the Institute for Technical norms and Standards of Costa Rica (INTECO).
