• The 665 companies distributed in the 71 industrial parks around the country exported 5.6947 billion, and distributed RD$33.2317 in payroll to their 165,724 employees.

1,789 lines of products from free zones were exported by the Dominican Republic to 131 countries on 5 continents.

Impact on the Country: Free zones have brought the country to first place in exporting cigarettes around the world. It´s also the second-largest supplier of women´s wool coats and electrical switches in the United States, and the third-largest Latin American exporter of medical instruments.
