President Danilo Medina attended the launching of the Medical Devices Cluster, which encompasses more than 25 worldwide companies that have manufacturing facilities in the Dominican Republic.

The Medical Devices Cluster represents the interests of the free zone medical sector, including a wide variety of medical components products and 23,000 employees, whom manufacture with high international standards to make possible the exportation to the United States, Europe, and Asia.

José Manuel Torres, executive vice president of the Dominican Free Zone Association (ADOZONA) mentioned that this sector last year contributed approximately US$1.5 million to the Dominican economy.
