Service History

Our journey began in the 1980s, with the vision of the second private free zone industrial park with 150 acres site, designed to cater multinational corporations, as a pioneer endeavor.
In 1985, we inaugurated operations with the prestigious American firm Westinghouse Electric Corporation, constructing first four (4) buildings to house approximately 1,200 employees. Today, PIISA has expanded to 170 acres of developed industrial space, boasting 54 buildings and generating over 20,000 jobs.

PIISA Industrial Park is founded by Victor Thomen, Samuel Conde, Manuel Tavares and Codetel
1986
Companies establish with the Industrial Park: Westinghouse (PIISA's first client), General Directorate of Customs and Hanes Knitwear
1987
More companies establish their operations in the Industrial Park: Baxter & Q-Tel; Baxter becoming the first Medical Device client in the country.
1988
PIISA’s city building - Lope de Vega was built and the companies: Bristol Myers Squibb, Lilly, and Sylvania were incorporated to the park.
1989
Johnson & Johnson, Signal Dominicana, General Electric, Wyeth-Ayerst and Hoover joined, and the Park Clients’ Association (ASOBAL) was founded.
1990
We received the company: ABBOTT and began the construction of a water tank and an electrical substation.
1991
Added: Emerson, consolidating ourselves as an attractive destination for leading companies in diverse sectors
1992
The companies: GTE y Control Device joined the park, expanding our client base.
1993
We welcome Johanson, a new leader in the electronic manufacturing.
1994
Our growth continues with the addition of electronic companies: First Technology and Siecor Dominican Republic; also the maintenance building was built.
1995
The companies Sponge Factory and Davis & Geck established in the park, growing our business in the medical devices manufacturing.
1996
EATON company established - a leading company in the breakers industry, DYOE and a heliport was built.
1997
Food Services International opens its doors, providing food to the companies within our park.
1999
We received two international companies: EMS and Nypro. In addition, a bank branch of Banco Popular, and we constructed a new entrance- No. 2.
2000
Corning, Metrix Dominicana and Edwards Lifesciences, all US- base multinational companies, joined the park. A world leader in medical innovations.
2001
To our group of companies, we added: Orange, a Telecom Company and Flexible Packaging Group
2002
New companies continued to establish in our park, this year we welcomed Avatar.
2004
Hospira, a renowned pharmaceutical company, joined us, as well as the companies: Pacific Assembly and Alliance.
2007
The companies Convatec, leader in Ostomy products, and Precision Engineering Group joined the Park.
2011
As part of the supply chain, Inter Caribbean Packaging, installed at the park.
2012
We are joined by Schad, a leader in 3pl logistics services and PI Manufacturing.
2013
Baxter, a medical innovated company, returns to the country and joins us again.
2014
Laurelton Jewelry, first jewelry company in our park, AccuMED, Carol Pharmacy and INTEC, all established within Park.
2015
We received Prime Janitorial, a specialized cleaning company and Coopnazonaf begins its operations, in favor of the workers of the Sector.
2016
We continue to strengthen our community with the incorporation of Nigua Tech Corp and Getinge.
2017
Joining WestRock, a leader in sustainable packaging solutions, and CSI, experts in document management.
2018
We welcomed Lear Corporation and the innovative company in mobility and patient care, Arjo
2019
Jabil, experts in advanced technological solutions and reliable manufacturing, has chosen our park to operate.
